Georgios N. Yannakakis, Director of the Institute of Digital Games at the University of Malta, is a Keynote Speaker at Me and AI: Human Concerns, Artificial Minds Conference

The 1st International Interdisciplinary Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Athens will have the honor to welcome as an invited speaker Georgios N. Yannakakis.

Professor Georgios N. Yannakakis is the Director of the Institute of Digital Games at the University of Malta and co-founder of modl.ai. He is considered one of the most accomplished experts at the intersection of AI and Games. Specifically, he works in the areas of computational creativity, affective computing and game technology and he pursues research concepts such as user experience modeling and procedural content generation for the design of personalized interactive systems for entertainment, education, training and health. 

He has published more than 260 journal and conference papers (Google Scholar Profile Page) and he has received many awards for his research work. He is the co-author of the Artificial Intelligence and Games textbook and the co-organizer of the Artificial Intelligence and Games  summer school series. 

The AI Conference (www.meandai.gr) will take place from March 30th to April 2nd at Gasholder 1 – Amphitheatre “Miltiadis Evert” at Technopolis City of Athens (100 Piraeus Street).

The first interdisciplinary conference on Artificial and Augmented Intelligence, organized by the Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with the joint effort of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society. The objective of the conference is to highlight issues related to the Ethical, Legal, Political, Social and Financial aspects of the implementation of cutting-edge intelligence technologies in everyday life.
