Abstract: Technology grows exponentially bringing radical changes to our lives at an ever increasing acceleration. Embracing the exponential changes will advance human-centric technologies that can address the global challenges and create unique opportunities for the national economy. The rapid redirection of research centers towards exponential technologies and their transformation to dynamic research and innovation ecosystems are vital so that they can keep producing technological advancement with world impact.  The transformation of Demokritos, the largest multidisciplinary research center of Greece will be outlined along with the successes of the last two years in attracting international R&D investments from TESLA for electric motors, from EY Global for document-based artificial intelligence and from the European Investment Bank.
